Big Brother Naija Season 11's Gambits, Flora and Aikou, have gone from being the two safest housemates in the "Show Ya Sef" house to facing their first possible eviction after viewers voted to release them from their special status.
The pair have officially ended their secret Gambit journey and are now full housemates eligible to compete for the grand prize. However, the newfound freedom comes with an immediate risk: both are now dependent on public votes to remain in the competition.
From Gambit Protection to the Eviction Block
When Flora and Aikou were selected as the season's Gambits, their deal with Biggie was straightforward. They were guaranteed a place in the finale and immunity from nominations and evictions, but in exchange, they forfeited their eligibility for the grand prize.
That changed following "Operation Release the Gambit", which gave viewers the opportunity to decide whether one or both housemates should be released from their protected status.
The public voted, and both Flora and Aikou were released.
Their return to the main game immediately changed the stakes. They can now compete for the season's prize money, but they have also lost the protection that had kept them safe for the first five weeks.
Their First Test Comes Immediately
The timing could hardly be tougher.
Almost the entire house is currently up for eviction, with only Head of House Abi and MIPOW Sheba protected from the nominations.
Flora and Aikou, therefore, find themselves facing the public vote almost immediately after becoming full housemates.
It creates a particularly interesting test for both contestants.
For five weeks, their supporters have never needed to vote to keep them in the house because the Gambit arrangement guaranteed their safety. This week's vote could therefore reveal whether their popularity translates into an active voting base willing to spend money, data and effort to keep them in the competition.
When viewers initially selected the Gambits, Flora recorded 29.38% of the female votes, while Aikou secured 9.10% of the male votes.
Whether those figures can translate into enough support to survive an actual eviction is now the question.

The change has already sparked mixed reactions among viewers.
Some fans argue that the Gambit arrangement may have worked against Flora and Aikou in the long run. While other housemates spent the first five weeks building relationships, fanbases and voting loyalty, the two Gambits were protected from the pressure that normally drives those dynamics.
Others, however, are excited to finally see both contestants play the game without restrictions.
For Flora, the eviction vote could reveal how much support her outspoken personality has built during her time in the house. For Aikou, viewers will be watching to see whether his calm personality and perceived intelligence can translate into the kind of dedicated support needed to survive an eviction.
