Looking for something interesting to watch this weekend? From complicated romances and workplace relationships to stories of betrayal, trauma and the consequences of unchecked anger, these five Nollywood films offer different experiences for your next movie night. Whether you enjoy a good romantic storyline or prefer films that leave you thinking long after the credits roll, there is something here to explore.
1. The Love Clause
What happens when someone who believes love should come with an exit strategy falls for a person who believes in happily ever after?
The Love Clause follows Ejiro, a successful divorce lawyer whose cynical view of marriage is rooted in the painful experience of watching her parents' relationship fall apart. Having built her life around avoiding emotional vulnerability, she believes every relationship should have a carefully planned escape route. Demi, on the other hand, is a romantic wedding planner who sees marriage as a conscious commitment between two people.
Their contrasting beliefs bring them together on a televised relationship talk show, where their arguments about prenuptial agreements, infidelity and financial security quickly attract attention. But when they are forced to work together on a family wedding, their professional rivalry gradually gives way to romantic feelings.
There is just one problem: Ejiro already has a boyfriend and a future she has carefully planned. As Demi challenges her to confront her fear of commitment, Ejiro must decide whether she is ready to stop allowing her past to determine her future.
Cast: Toluwani George, Chike Daniels, Ihionu Sydney, Margaret Echeghe, among others.

2. Love's Signature
Sometimes, the person who makes your life difficult is the last person you expect to fall in love with.
In Love's Signature, Kanayo is a wealthy and controlling corporate executive whose demanding attitude makes life miserable for his personal assistant, Anna. After enduring his behaviour for long enough, Anna decides to reclaim her independence by resigning and starting her own clothing business.
Unable to accept her decision to walk away, Kanayo takes matters into his own hands. He secretly sabotages her business with fake orders and negative reviews, leaving her financially devastated. Yet, even after everything he has done, he finds himself falling for the woman he tried to destroy.
Kanayo attempts to win Anna over with gifts, meals and other gestures, but his efforts take an unexpected turn when she discovers his role in ruining her business. As the truth comes out, Kanayo is forced to confront the childhood experiences that shaped his controlling personality, while Anna must decide whether his remorse is enough to give their relationship another chance.
Cast: Daniel Etim-Effiong, Chinelo Ejianwu, Ivy Antiev, Bobby Ekpe, among others.
Watch on: Blessing Obazi TV.
3. Unholy Anger
A seemingly perfect marriage can sometimes conceal a betrayal capable of changing an entire family's life.
Unholy Anger centres on Felicity Maduka, a devoted wife and mother whose marriage to Jeremy appears to be everything she could have hoped for. However, her world comes crashing down when she discovers that her husband has been having an affair with a younger woman, Jasmine.
The betrayal becomes even more devastating when Felicity learns that Jeremy has bought a house for his mistress and intends to move into it permanently. Rather than showing genuine remorse, Jeremy's actions leave Felicity struggling to process the scale of his deception.
Consumed by heartbreak and uncontrollable rage, Felicity makes a decision with irreversible consequences: she runs her husband over with her car, killing him. She subsequently contacts the authorities and admits to what she has done.
The film follows the devastating aftermath of that moment, exploring how betrayal, anger and a single impulsive decision can destroy lives. It is a sobering story about the consequences of allowing emotions to take complete control.
Cast: Uche Jombo, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Erica Nlewedim, Koko Hanson, among others.
Watch on: Awele Hansel TV 365.
4. Caught in the Cycle
Not every act of kindness comes from a place of genuine goodwill. Sometimes, the people who appear to offer salvation are hiding the darkest intentions.
Caught in the Cycle follows Ify, a talented teenage girl whose family is struggling financially. When a wealthy couple, Leonardo and Cynthia Anasa, offer pay for her mother's medical bills and also help make her journey to the United Kingdom smooth for her music scholarship, the opportunity appears to be the answer to their problems.
However, after moving into their home, Ify discovers that the couple's generosity conceals a disturbing reality. Both Leonardo and Cynthia sexually abuse and manipulate her, exploiting the trust placed in them while maintaining their respectable public image.
As the story unfolds, their own histories of childhood abuse emerge, revealing how unresolved trauma has influenced their actions. Rather than confronting their pasts and seeking healing, they have become perpetrators of the same kind of harm they once experienced.
With Ify's safety increasingly threatened, Mary becomes instrumental in uncovering the truth and gathering evidence against the couple. The film ultimately explores the devastating consequences of abuse and the importance of breaking cycles of trauma rather than allowing them to continue.
Cast: Angel Unigwe, Stan Nze, Leolidas Ewane, Iyanuoluwa Owadasha, among others.
Watch on: Biodun Stephen TV.
5. Before Forever
Getting married is one thing; understanding what it means to build a life with someone is another.
Before Forever follows Somto, an ambitious corporate professional determined to secure a major promotion at work. However, her plans are complicated when her landlord increases her rent significantly. Her fiancé, Tobi, suggests that she move into his apartment before their wedding to ease the financial pressure. Although Somto initially objects because of her personal convictions about living together before marriage, she eventually agrees.
Things become complicated when Tobi's mother arrives and begins criticising Somto for prioritising her demanding career over household responsibilities. Tobi's inability to stand up to his mother only makes matters worse, leaving Somto to deal with the pressure while trying to remain focused on her professional ambitions.
When Somto's sister steps in to help with the domestic responsibilities, it becomes clear just how much the situation has affected her.
With their relationship under pressure, Somto and Tobi must confront questions about boundaries, family interference and what genuine partnership should look like before they make their final commitment.
Cast: Daniel Etim-Effiong, Ekama Etim-Inyang, Ronke Odusanya, Ifeyinwa Adigwu, among others.
