AMVCA 2026 Nominees: Full List of All Categories

The nominees for the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) have officially been unveiled, setting the stage for one of Africa’s biggest film and television events.

The 2026 ceremony, scheduled for May 9 in Lagos, will feature a total of 32 award categories spanning film, television, and digital content. With 18 jury-decided categories, 11 public voting categories, and three special recognition awards, this year’s edition continues to celebrate excellence across Africa’s growing entertainment industry. Veteran actress Joke Silva will serve as Head Judge.

One of the biggest updates this year is the introduction of two new categories: Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language Film (Central Africa), expanding the awards’ regional representation.
